Privacy Policy

1. The short version

Snip Studio does not collect, transmit, sell, rent, share, host, analyze, profile, or store your screenshots, recordings, captures, files, identifiers, or telemetry on servers controlled by the developer. Everything you do with Snip Studio happens on your Mac. We have no servers that receive your content. We do not have an account system. We use no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, social-login, or tracking components, and we do not train any model on your data.

To make the app work across your devices and remember your choices, Snip Studio stores a small amount of non-personal information — your free-usage allowance and a record that you accepted our agreements — in your own private iCloud account. This stays in your iCloud; we never see it.

2. Who this policy applies to

This Privacy Policy applies to the Snip Studio application for macOS as distributed by Apple on the App Store, and to any in-app purchase or subscription offered through that application. It does not cover Apple’s services (such as the App Store, Apple Account, or iCloud), which are governed by Apple’s own privacy policies, nor any third-party application or service you choose to use alongside Snip Studio.

3. Data we collect — none

For purposes of the Apple App Privacy framework, Snip Studio declares “Data Not Collected” in every category. We do not collect contact info, health and fitness, financial info, location, sensitive info, contacts, user content (including your screenshots and recordings), browsing or search history, identifiers, purchases, usage data, diagnostics, or any other data on servers controlled by the developer. The information Snip Studio stores in your own iCloud account (described in §4) is not received, accessed, or held by the developer, and is therefore not “collected” by us within the meaning of the App Privacy framework.

4. What lives on your Mac and in your iCloud

Although we collect nothing on our servers, Snip Studio works with information that resides on your own Mac or in your own private iCloud account, under your control. None of this is transmitted to us.

(a) Your screenshots and recordings. Everything you capture, record, edit, or annotate with Snip Studio is stored locally on your Mac, under your control. Snip Studio reads this content only to display and edit it at your request. It is never transmitted to us.

(b) App preferences and settings. Your options and choices are stored locally on your Mac.

(c) Free-usage allowance and consent record. To apply the free allowance fairly across reinstalls, and to remember that you accepted our agreements (including the version and date), Snip Studio stores a small amount of non-personal data in your own private iCloud account. This data lives in your iCloud account, is not personally identifying to us, and is not accessible to the developer.

(d) On-device analysis. To help you extract text, and to locate faces, codes, or sensitive details you may want to hide in what you capture, Snip Studio may analyze your captures on your Mac. This analysis happens entirely on your Mac; results are not transmitted to us.

(e) In-app purchase entitlement records. When you make a purchase, Apple records the transaction in your Apple Account. Snip Studio receives only the binary entitlement signal (“this user owns this product”) and uses it on your Mac to unlock features. We do not receive payment details, billing information, your Apple ID, your name, or your email.

5. Permissions Snip Studio requests, and why

(a) Screen Recording. Required so that Snip Studio can capture your screen — regions, windows, menus, and displays. You grant it once in System Settings, and you can change it at any time.

(b) Microphone (optional). Requested only if you choose to add spoken narration to a screen recording. It is entirely optional.

(c) Notifications (optional). If you turn on automation or reminder notifications, Snip Studio asks permission to notify you. This is entirely optional and can be turned off at any time.

Snip Studio does NOT request accessibility access, camera, location, contacts, calendars, reminders, your photo or media library, Bluetooth, motion & fitness, health, or cross-app tracking (no advertising identifier). You can change or revoke any permission at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

6. What Apple may see (not us)

Some operations involve Apple’s services, where Apple — not MAHTCA GLOBAL — processes the information under Apple’s own policies: (a) In-app purchases are processed by Apple; Apple is the merchant of record. (b) Your allowance and consent record are held within your own private iCloud account, governed by your Apple settings and Apple’s policies. (c) System diagnostics, if you have enabled sharing with app developers in System Settings, may send Apple aggregated, anonymised reports; these contain no personal data, the setting is off by default and controlled by you, and Snip Studio does not require or rely on them. (d) iCloud and device backups are Apple services governed by your Apple settings and Apple’s policies, not by us. (e) App Store analytics provide the developer aggregated, anonymised statistics containing no personal data.

7. No third-party services

Snip Studio does not embed, link, or call analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, attribution, social-login, tracking, fingerprinting, or behavioural-profiling components, or any backend servers operated by MAHTCA GLOBAL. We do not use your captures or any other data to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models, our own or anyone else’s.

8. Privacy roles — who is responsible for what

Snip Studio operates on your Mac. Because MAHTCA GLOBAL never sees or holds your captures, recordings, or files, MAHTCA GLOBAL does not act as a “controller” or “processor” of that content within the meaning of the EU GDPR, the UK GDPR, or equivalent data-protection laws. When you use Snip Studio to capture, record, edit, or share content — including any personal data of yourself or of other persons that appears in what you capture, such as faces, messages, names, or on-screen information — you act as the person determining the purposes and means of that processing on your own device, and you are solely responsible for handling that data lawfully.

9. Children

Snip Studio is not directed at children. You must be at least 13 years old to use Snip Studio, or older where your jurisdiction requires (including 16 under Article 8 of the EU GDPR for residents of Romania and several other EEA Member States). We do not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children. Because nothing is transmitted to us, there is no children’s data for us to hold, delete, or report.

10. International users

Snip Studio is distributed worldwide via Apple’s App Store. Because your captures and files do not leave your Mac, no cross-border transfer of that content takes place between you and MAHTCA GLOBAL. You remain subject to the data-protection law of your country of residence in your own use of the application, including any obligations you may have to third parties whose personal data appears in what you capture.

11. Your rights, and how to exercise them

Because your content stays on your Mac, the most effective way to exercise data-protection rights is to manage your device directly: your captures are already on your Mac, where you can view, copy, export, or delete them; and you can revoke Snip Studio’s permissions in System Settings → Privacy & Security, or uninstall the app. The allowance and consent record stored in your iCloud is controlled by you and removed when you delete it from your iCloud account. Because MAHTCA GLOBAL holds no personal data of yours, requests to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, object to, or transfer your personal data must be carried out by you on your device; we are generally unable to act on such requests because the underlying data does not exist on our systems. If you believe a data-protection right has been infringed by MAHTCA GLOBAL, contact help@snippingstudio.app; in Romania you may also complain to the ANSPDCP (www.dataprotection.ro), and consumers elsewhere to their local supervisory authority.

12. Security

Snip Studio runs inside the application sandbox enforced by Apple. We have no servers that hold your captures or files, which means we have no server-side attack surface for your content. You are responsible for securing your device, keeping macOS up to date, managing app permissions, maintaining backups, and controlling who has physical or account access to your device. If we become aware of a security issue in Snip Studio that could affect you, we will publish a notice and a fix through the App Store and, where required by applicable law, notify relevant supervisory authorities.

13. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in Snip Studio, applicable law, Apple’s requirements, or our practices. When we update it, the Effective Date and Version will change, and the updated policy will be made available within Snip Studio and at its published location. Where a change materially affects your rights, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you before it takes effect. If you do not accept an update, your remedy is to stop using and delete Snip Studio.

15. App Privacy Label declaration

MAHTCA GLOBAL has declared, in App Store Connect, that Snip Studio collects no data of any category and does not use data for tracking. The “App Privacy” section on the Snip Studio App Store listing reflects this declaration, and this Privacy Policy is the source of truth for it.
